Monday 30th and Wednesday 2nd October -

For part of our Teamwork badge, each Beaver has to take a turn at leading an activity. This week, we took part in 3 challenges in our Lodges - building towers, human noughts and crosses and making Promise paper chains.

This week, the Monday colony earned their Experiment badge by carrying out 3 experiments, before watching a “coke and mentos” finale!

The Wednesday colony went to Lime Road Pocket Park to help the community by planting daffodil bulbs ready for spring (and tick off a clause on their My World badge).

Beavers Saturday 20th September

A busy morning experimenting. The Beavers all had an opportunity to try three different experiments.

Demonstrate the fire triangle using candles and glass jars. Change the density of water by adding salt to it. What happens to your egg sitting in the water? Lastly, make a stick of chalk using food grade materials.

We were so busy experimenting we forgot to capture some images........

Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th September -

This week we started our Sports activity badge. Two Lodges faced off in a game of cricket while two played football, before swapping over. On Wednesday, we tried human table football instead of regular football. On Monday we also had a go at boules. Beavers can complete the badge at home if they regularly take part in a sport or physical activity.

This week the Monday colony got cracking with part of the World challenge by visiting the Longford Park allotments and meeting some of the volunteers. They harvested potatoes, did some weeding and picked and tasted tomatoes.

The Wednesday colony carried out 3 experiments to gain their Experiment badge. They tested objects to see whether they float or sink and make foil boats, they built parachutes to protect hard boiled eggs and they made colourful patterns with skittles and hot water.
