Mon 16th March Mother's Day Gift

This Monday the Beavers made a Mother's Day Gift. Unfortunately this will be the last Beaver Meeting for the foreseeable future due to the Coronavirus. We hope to be able to let you know soon what you can be doing to make progress with your Challenge Awards and Activity Badges during the enforced break in Scouting Activities.

This week the Beavers completed the second part of the Faith Activity Badge which involved a visit to a Place of Worship. In this case we chose a place where there is a newish Scout Group connected to it. This is Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple pn Stretford Rd., Old Trafford. We were met by one of the Cub Leaders of their Scout Group. They don't have Beavers, yet. He took us into their Library and explained how Buddhism came about. Then followed a look round other parts of the building including the main prayer area which is magnificent. Thank you to our hosts for explaining Buddhism and showing us round.

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY 2ND &4TH MARCH 2020

This week the Beavers started working towards their Faith Badge.    They were asked to write a thought (or prayer) for the day and were given the beginning of the sentence.   The three lines were Thank you for ..............Sorry that....................Please help.................     The Beavers did well in writing their thoughts.   Following this they were read a short story and had to act it out in front of all the other Beavers.   All the lodges did extremely  well.

Longford Scouts is an active Scout Group based at the Ranche in Longford Park, Stretford in Manchester. We accept boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 18. We are a registered charity.
