3rd & 4th FEBRUARY 2015

This week the Beavers went on a "Night Hike" around Longford Park.  They were split into their lodges and then with 2 adults to each lodge we walked in different directions around the park.   We were hoping to see some animals, but the Beavers were so noisy, I am sure they would have frightened any that were about.

Congratulations to Grace on attaining her Faith badge.   Also welcome officially to Harper, Jack and Wilf as they were inducted into Beavers

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 26TH/27TH JANUARY 2015

This week was Faith Activity Badge.   After we had played a couple of games the Beavers were separated into their Lodges and asked to write a thought for the day.  This didn't have to be religious, it could be as simple as I will keep my bedroom tidy.   We then asked the children to act out something appertaining to the Beaver Promise.  They all agreed that the promise was to help others and this was the theme they all used and they did very well.

Tue/Wed 20th/21st Jan

This week we read the Beavers several stories from different Faith backgrounds. We then gave the Beavers a choice of three different morals or thoughts from the story and asked them to choose which one they thought fitted the story they had heard. In some cases the result was more obvious than others. It all counted towards their Promise Challenge Award. We also played games.

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY 6TH & 7TH JANUARY 2015

This week we played games and then we asked the Beavers what they had received for Christmas. Perhaps we should have asked what they didn't get - they certainly had a long list of things they had received. One or two did actually say they had so many presents they didn't know which to play with first. No Beavers next week - for those who have booked, it is Jump Nation on Tuesday, 13th January

18th/19th November 2014

This week the Tuesday Colony were given advice on Internet Safety, whilst the Wednesday Colony played traditional games such as Ludo, Snakes & Ladders, etc. The following Beavers had all remembered there promise and were invested into the Group - Ann, Cillian, Hayden, Jacob, Joseph and Nancy. Well done to them all.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 18TH & 19TH NOVEMBER 2014

There were different activities this week for the Beavers. The Tuesday Group spent the evening playing traditional games, whilst the Wednesday Group discussed the internet and how to keep safe. Donna kept the Beavers attention and they were very knowledgeable - asking and answering good questions. We ended the evening with several Beavers hiding in the other room and the rest of the Beavers trying to guess who they were. This was to prove to the children that if you can't see somebody they can tell you anything. Next week the Tuesday Group will learn about the internet with the Wednesday Group playing traditional games.
