Your place will be considered forfeited if it is not accepted within the required notice period of it being offered, Or if after a joining a member fails to attend for 4 consecutive weeks with no contact.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-3083\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse3083\" aria-controls=\"collapse3083\" href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon ea-icon-expand-plus\"><\/i> We've been on the waiting list for \"x\" amount of months, why haven't we got a place?<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse3083\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-308\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-3083\"><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>We cannot predict or advise when your child may get a place.<\/p>\n<p>Places are based on capacity within the group and if other members have left to generate space in the section. Some sections may also have longer lists that others.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-3084\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse3084\" aria-controls=\"collapse3084\" href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon ea-icon-expand-plus\"><\/i> My child's too old for the section we wanted them to join, will I need to re-register?<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse3084\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-308\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-3084\"><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>Our waiting list is run across the entire group. If your child is now too old for the section you wished them to originally joing they will automatically be transfered to the next sections waiting list.<\/p>\n<p>They will still retain the same position on the list based on your original enquiry date.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-3085\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse3085\" aria-controls=\"collapse3085\" href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon ea-icon-expand-plus\"><\/i> Why do you have a waiting list<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse3085\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-308\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-3085\"><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>Longford Scout Group is very popular which means that there may be a waiting list for all of our sections.<\/p>\n<p>Our sections have a maximum capacity to ensure we operate safely.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-3086\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse3086\" aria-controls=\"collapse3086\" href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon ea-icon-expand-plus\"><\/i> How long stay on waiting list<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse3086\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-308\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-3086\"><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>A young person will remain on a waiting list until:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They are offered a place in a section<\/li>\n<li>You advise you no longer wish for them to be on our list<\/li>\n<li>When they turn 16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We reguarly check if you wish to stay on our waiting list and send an email out seeing if you wish to stay on our list - please ensure you take the time to reply.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-3087\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse3087\" aria-controls=\"collapse3087\" href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon ea-icon-expand-plus\"><\/i> How does the waiting list work?<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse3087\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-308\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-3087\"><div class=\"ea-body\"><p>The Waiting List is not strictly linear, a number of factors are taken into consideration to ensure that the young person gets a quality time in scouting.<\/p>\n<p>These prebuilt rules include the time you've spent on our waiting list, if you have a sibling alreadty in the group and the time you would get to spend in the section we are offering a place for.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ea-card  sp-ea-single\"><h3 class=\"ea-header\"><a class=\"collapsed\" id=\"ea-header-3088\" data-sptoggle=\"spcollapse\" data-sptarget=\"#collapse3088\" aria-controls=\"collapse3088\" href=\"javascript:void(0)\"  aria-expanded=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><i class=\"ea-expand-icon ea-icon-expand-plus\"><\/i> Can I defer a place if I\u2019m not ready to accept it yet?<\/a><\/h3><div class=\"sp-collapse spcollapse spcollapse\" id=\"collapse3088\" data-parent=\"#sp-ea-308\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ea-header-3088\"><div class=\"ea-body\"><p data-start=\"194\" data-end=\"313\">We know that timings don\u2019t always line up, and sometimes a place might be offered before you\u2019re quite ready to take it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"315\" data-end=\"549\">When a space becomes available, we offer it to the next young person on our waiting list. Unfortunately, we\u2019re not able to hold or defer places, as we want to make sure opportunities are offered fairly and that spaces don\u2019t go unused.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"696\">If you\u2019re unable to accept the place when it\u2019s offered, that\u2019s absolutely fine.
