- ps, trips and special events (if you want to!)
- Build positive relationships with young people, parents and other volunteers
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll be part of a Section Team led by a Section Leader, and work alongside other volunteers and young people in your section. You’ll also have support from the Group Leadership Team.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to have been in Scouts before – we’ll support you every step of the way.
You’ll need to be friendly, approachable and enjoy helping others. Teamwork and a good sense of humour definitely help too!
Training and Checks
All volunteers complete our appointment process, including a DBS check and mandatory safeguarding and safety training. You’ll also have access to flexible, easy-to-follow learning to help you build confidence in your role.
Time Involved
Flexible – most section meetings run weekly for about 1–2 hours, plus some planning and events.
We can match the role to the time you have available – whether that’s weekly, monthly, or occasionally.
Why Volunteer?
You’ll have fun, make new friends, and help young people grow in confidence, teamwork and resilience. Volunteering with Scouts is rewarding, flexible and makes a lasting impact on your community.
Expenses
Like all our volunteers, you won’t be paid for your time, but we’ll reimburse reasonable expenses in line with our policy.
