Thursday 8th November saw the Scouts do knot tying. The Scouts worked together in their patrols and practiced the Reef and the Bowline knot. With their new knot tying skills, the Scouts joined in on a knot tying relay race. Each patrol competed against each other in order to gain the winners title. The race began with the first Scout in their patrol to tie the required knot in front of a Scout leader, and the Scout Leader would then decide whether the knot is correct and therefore continue with the race. Once the Scout had tied the knot, they’d run back and tag the next member of their patrol to repeat the same task. The first patrol to have successfully tied the knots and returned behind the starter line, arms folded, WON!
At the end of the meeting, the Scouts where presented with their newly earned badges. The group applauded and congratulated the Scouts on their achievements. Get your sewing kits out guys, there’s a lot of well deserved badges to add to your uniform 🙂
WELL DONE!
