This week there were no separate Colony meetings as there was the District organised Christmas Party at Ants in your Pantz in Timperley. Expecting that the A56 out of Stretford and through Sale would be busy I left early and arrived in Timperley with Andrew by 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. It would appear that some parents thought along similar lines as soon there were Longford Beavers arriving. Fortunately we were allowed into the building and the Beavers were soon busy on the various pieces of equipment. The other Beavers arrived within the next half hour or so. We had over 30 Longford Beavers present. After about an hour the Beavers were called over to the tables which had been laid with plates, mugs and crackers. The staff were soon coming round with hand gel to clean hands before reappearing with sandwiches, sausage rolls and slices of pizza. One Beaver who had left his place at  the table said, when told by me that there was more, said he did not want any more but nearly knocked me over when I mentioned that the more was ice cream. Then there was time for more play before the call went out to form a long line and Father Christmas called them into his area to receive a present. Then it was time for some tired Beavers to be collected by their parents and for the adults to check that no-one had been left behind and there were no personel belongings left before we too made our way home. I think the Beavers enjoyed themselves and it was a relatively easy evening for the Leaders.

Next week it is a Christmas Make & Take on Tue & Wed as usual and then the following week it is Longford’s Christmas Do for Beavers and Cubs at Leggoland on Wed 18th Dec.
