Pollution, and greenhouse gases affect us on a daily basis. As Scouts we should look after the environment around us. The best way to do this is to learn more about how we directly affect the environment around us! This week Scouts undertook the task to discuss more about environmental issues and how we can do our part to help both natural land and seascapes, and our urban surroundings!
Scouts then spent time creating their own Eco-Jar to harbour life, and grow their own bio-colony. This way the Scouts hold *a whole world in their hands (Even if it is just bacteria)! This should help Scouts understand more about how direct action can affect the world around them.
Our aim is for Scouts to take this knowledge into both everyday life, and to Scouts in the future. Can you cycle to Scouts when we resume face-to-face Scouting? Perhaps you’ll look for outdoor clothing which is made by sustainable manufacturers. Or even, just maybe… Scouts might take an active role in recycling on camp!
