Unfortunately due to the arrival of Lockdown 2.0, we had this week’s meeting back on Zoom (yay!).
This week we tackled the Astronautics badge and learnt all about space exploration and life outside our atmosphere. So what did we do? Sunny you should ask…
We started with an introduction of what on earth (or not) was happening at the moment in the world of space exploration and who was involved in operations on our International Space station. We then learnt about eating in space and life aboard the station.
We separated into groups to come up with our own space missions that we then had to pitch to a crackpot team of Space Journalists.
The ideas were:
A Space ‘Henry Hoover’, tasked with cleaning up the Solar System;
A rocket powered by Coke and Mentos to land on Mars;
And an eco-dome for the surface of the moon to allow people to live comfortably outside the Earth’s atmosphere.
We all had a ‘blast’ (he-he) and the ideas were ‘out of this world’ (deary me).
Thanks to everyone who came along for the meeting, it was all sun and games. I mean, fun and games (they’re getting worse).
See you lunar rather than later!
