On Wednesday 13th January we tried out a joint meeting of both Colonies. The result was easier for the Leadership Team but the total number of Beavers was lower than the separate meetings the previous week so we will have to see what happens in subsequent weeks before a final decision is made. The subject of the meeting, on Zoom, was a Jungle Adventure. This involved the Beavers learning a few skills such as simple grid references, tying a reef knot, cracking a code, solving a problem and lighting a candle (under parental supervision). They also had to negotiate jungle creepers and tiptoe past a sleeping crocodile. It ticked a few badge boxes and I think they had an enjoyable evening which is after all the main objective.
