This week Scouts joined us on our first week back doing face to face activities! Yipee! This week we cracked out the gas stoves so that Scouts can learn how to cook on gas while on hikes in the wilderness. These are key skills which will be used later when they start their DofE process in Explorers  and are required to cook a meal while on a hike. Not to mention the fact that they can probably now cook you an eggy breakfast if you go camping as a family. Scouts also learnt how to make small tin can stoves which enables them to light a small fire in a tin can, and generate a HUGE amount of heat to cook with. They’re also great for cooking in small spaces where you physically can’t have a open fire!
