This week the Beavers were using thin sticks and, depending on Mon or Wed Colonies, masking tape or gardening wire to construct something. We had given them some suggestions and pictures of full sized pioneering project such as a raft, flagpole or camp table. We found that using masking tape to secure the sticks did not work very well so the Wed Colony benefited from our experience. I provided lengths of fine gardening wire which worked much better. See a picture on the Monday post.
One of the games this evening was called “Beans” where the Leader running the game called out a different type of Bean and the Beavers had to do an suitable activity. For example “Runner Bean” had them running on the spot. It kept them warm and they seemed to enjoy it.
