This is a new Beaver Activity Badge so we thought we would give it a go. We had 4 bases with each Lodge spending about 10 mins at each base. They covered :-
1) Making decisions on what you want or need.
2) Saving – the choice of something now or getting more in the future.
3) The history of money – ranging from barter to the use of something (token ie money) to exchange something you have for something you need. Also including prevention of fraud in coins and notes.
4) Money management – the value of different coins
We thought that it was a difficult badge probably because at their age Beavers do not have to deal with the concepts used in the badge. Something to think about for the future.
