Greater Manchester West Scout County ran a trip to Blackpool Zoo for all Beavers from the County. This was a large organisational exercise involving 7 coaches and about 300 Beavers from all the Scout Districts ranging from Wigan to Altrincham and Stretford Districts on the edges. When we set off the weather was cold bur sunny. The nearer we got to Blackpool the worse the weather looked and when we actually got to the Zoo it was raining but suitably encased in our waterproofs and with our High Vis Vests we started to explore the animals at the Zoo. Quite soon the rain stopped and the rest of the day was sunny but cold. I have asked the Beavers that went to complete the section from the My Skills Challenge to complete the “Visit Somewhere new”. The picture shows some of the monkeys at the Zoo !!!

The other Beavers from the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday Colonies that did not go will hopefully visit somewhere new with their parents over the Easter Break and send in the information found for them to complete this part of the Challenge.
