This week the Beavers have been working towards this Award with meeting someone involved in the Community and working in the community. The subject was litter. First of all the Beavers heard about the problems that litter can cause not just visually but in respect of animal health and the well being of the planet. One example was a crisp packet that had been around as discarded litter for 10 years and did not look as though it was more than a week only. The Beavers then went out with Leaders in pairs with litter pickers and sacks to find what litter they could find in the area round The Ranche. Unfortunately they were able to rind quite a bit. At least after their efforts there is a lot less but for how long ?
