The Scouts have been busy repairing wooden planters that they made before Christmas. The planters, which were in need of repair, were fixed using hammers and drills to make them sturdy once again. The repair work was an excellent opportunity for the scouts to hone their DIY skills while learning the value of repurposing and upcycling materials.
After the planters were fixed, the scouts filled them with compost and planted various seeds to see what would grow. The scouts chose a variety of seeds. The activity was an excellent way for the scouts to learn about gardening and in the future to understand how to care for plants. The scouts expressed their excitement about watching the plants grow. The scouts also gained valuable life skills that they can use in the future, including DIY, gardening, and teamwork.
