Scouts have been lending their time and energy to support Longford Park Community Allotment, getting involved in a variety of tasks to help prepare for the growing season.
The activity began with seed planting, as Scouts filled pots with compost and carefully sowed a range of vegetable and herb seeds. These pots will be cared for over the coming weeks before the seedlings are transplanted into the allotment beds later in the season.
The visit provided a chance to learn about growing food, the importance of healthy soil, and the role community spaces like the allotment play in supporting local wellbeing and sustainability.
It was a great opportunity to get hands-on with nature while making a positive contribution to the local area.
