Scouts have been practising their outdoor cooking skills, learning how to gather wood, build and light fires safely, and cook their own food over the flames.
Working in small groups, they collected dry wood, built their fires, and got them burning steadily – even managing to get them going on a damp evening when the rain started to fall.
Once the fires were ready, the reward was worth the effort: sausages sizzling away and the smell of campfire cooking filling the air. A few slightly charred ones along the way, but plenty of smiles and full stomachs by the end.
