Our Scouts recently took on a fun and meaningful challenge all about internet safety – and showed off their creativity along the way!
The evening began with a discussion about the positives and pitfalls of being online. The Scouts explored how the internet can be an amazing tool for learning, connecting, and having fun, but also talked about some of the hazards that come with it – such as sharing personal details, cyberbullying, scams, and unsafe websites. Together, they shared tips on how to stay safe, protect their privacy, and look out for their friends online.
With their knowledge refreshed, the Scouts were then set a creative task – to design an advert about internet safety aimed at Cubs. They had to think carefully about how to get their message across in a way that was clear, fun, and easy to understand for younger members.
The Scouts came up with some brilliant ideas, including catchy slogans, short skits, and colourful posters, each team performed their advert to the rest of the troop, with plenty of laughter and applause along the way!
