At the recent Thursday Scouts meeting, the group focused on practical outdoor skills centered around gathering wood and lighting fires. The Scouts collected different types of wood from the surrounding area, identifying which pieces would be best suited for building a fire that could sustain itself over time.Once the fires were successfully lit using flints, the Scouts utilized the flames to toast marshmallows. After achieving the perfect golden brown, these toasted marshmallows were combined with chocolate digestives to make s’mores, providing a hands-on way to enjoy the fruits of their labor by the firelight.
