Saturday Cubs recently spent a full day honing their camp skills in a practical outdoor setting. The young Cubs learned the essential skill of safely lighting and managing their own fires. Further enriching their outdoor culinary experience, they cooked food directly on the embers they had created. The day was packed full with activities that also included shelter building, which saw the Cubs constructing their own natural shelters from materials found in the vicinity.In addition to the survival skills, the Cubs engaged in axe throwing and practiced various knot techniques, essential for any seasoned camper. The day was rounded off with some reflective and communal activities including praying together and singing songs around a campfire, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and community among the group. The experience was designed to equip the Cubs with practical skills while also enhancing their teamwork and cooperation.
