We'd like to share some wonderful feedback received from Lorna at the Marine Conservation Trust following our trip to the beach with the Saturday Cubs and Scouts. Well done for representing Longford Scouts so well!

"Just getting in touch after our Beach Trip last Saturday with Longford Scouts to say a big thank you. Your Cubs & scouts, volunteers & parents were a joy to spend the day with, full of curiosity, questions and enthusiasm to learn. Your young people were really responsible, respectful, so well behaved and a joy to work with. I enjoyed myself as much as I think everyone else did!

We enjoyed fresh air and sun, learnt about the importance of estuaries and wild ecosystems for nature, the role of the ocean to us as humans, identified wildflowers and coastal plants, spotted rare Natterjack Toads, shark & ray egg cases, coastal birds and more. Football, picnic, icecreams at lunchtime and in the afternoon we even completed a brief litter pick, gathering 1 bag full of Litter from the beach in 30mins weighing just under 3kg!!"
