Volunteer with Us

Every week, our incredible volunteers help nearly 300 young people at Longford Scout Group learn new skills, make friends and grow in confidence. They’re the ones who make the magic happen – shaping young lives and discovering more about themselves along the way.

We’re growing fast, and we need more brilliant people like you to join the adventure.

You don’t need to be Bear Grylls – or even know how to pitch a tent! We welcome everyone – all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Whether you’re a tea maker, admin whizz, event organiser, minibus driver, first aider or just someone who wants to make a difference, there’s a place for you in our team.

Give as much or as little time as you can. We’ll provide all the training and support – you just show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life. No two Scout nights at The Ranche are ever the same, but every single one matters.

From leading activities and organising events, to supporting behind the scenes or helping keep our HQ looking its best, there’s a flexible volunteering role to suit you.

Explore our current volunteer roles below or contact us to find out how you can get involved.

Make a difference, volunteer today

You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because people like you lend a hand. We’re talking about tea makers, tidy-uppers and skill sharers. We’re talking about mini bus drivers and first aiders. We’re talking about students who want to boost their CV, and parents who volunteer so they can spend more time together as a family.

We provide the training. You show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life. Sounds fun? Worthwhile? It is…
