This week the Beavers were few in number, possibly due to many being away on holiday. For those who attended we did some work towards the badge for learning about disability. We talked about the various disabilities and then we introduced them to British Sign Language Finger Spelling. Each Beaver was given a sheet of paper with their name and have to finger spell it. They all did very well – especially those who were fortunate enough to have a short name. The Beavers were asked to try and learn how to finger spell their name for the meeting on the 30th June/1st July. We then played a game where the instructions were given in written form, this was to show the Beavers how it would be if they were deaf.
