This week the Beavers have been working on this badge. They took their resting pulse, some with greater ease than others and then took it again after moderate exercise and then again after further exercise to see if this had any affect. The pulse should increase after exercise. Then it was onto an experiment to see what effect various liquids had on an egg (representing teeth). Here it was a case of “Here is one I prepared earlier” as some liquids had more effect than others so it is certainly a case of cleaning your teeth after a meal to prevent staining or acid attack on the enamel of your teeth. Finally a game of “Fruit Machine” where each Lodge had a similar bag of fruit and in secret one of the Lodge selected a piece of fruit. On a word of command each Lodge showed their choice and points were awarded for matching pairs or trebles. This was repeated several times to find a winning Lodge.
