During their latest meeting, the Saturday Beavers focused on understanding healthy eating habits by exploring different food groups. The session included identifying varieties of proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables. This foundational knowledge is crucial for understanding nutritional balance.In small groups called lodges, the Beavers then used this information to create their own healthy balanced dinner designs. To put their learning into practice, they also prepared fruit skewers. Each Beaver selected from a range of fruits to craft their skewers, applying their new understanding of food groups and healthy choices directly.
